Comedy Writing for
Kids & Teens

Sketch Up Glitter Spotlight (4 × 1.25 in)(1).png

For the homework doers and skippers, the class clowns and book readers: this 10-week program teaches you the basics of comedy writing! Turn your ideas into scripted skits – your best will be read in the last week by actors! Make new friends, gain confidence, learn structure, and laugh!

Sketch Up will be on Zoom but run like an SNL comedy writers room. There will be two classes--one for students in Grades 5-8 and one for Grades 9-11. The classes will be led by Tom Scudamore, a British sketch writer along with Anna Paone, Dragonfly's Artistic Associate.

Both classes will be Saturday afternoon. Grades 5-8 from 1:30-2:45 EST and Grades 9-11 from 3:00-4:15.

Class size will be limited to no more than 8 kids per group, but we must have a minimum number of students registered by the second week to run the class.

Dates: Beginning January 14.

Students will walk away having written 10 sketches and some of the sketches will be performed during the last class by experienced actors.

RSVP for the first class below. It's free!

If you like it, continue for the remaining 7 weeks for only $140 for the entire session.
